It depends on what you want to see. The dry season, June to October, gives the clearest game viewing because animals gather around rivers and waterholes and the bush is thin. If your priority is the Great Migration river crossings, aim for July to September in the northern Serengeti. The green season, November to May, is quieter, greener, and better for birding and newborn wildebeest calves in February, with lower rates and fewer vehicles at each sighting. We build the itinerary around what you actually want to see, not a fixed calendar.
We keep vehicles small on purpose. Most trips run with a maximum of six guests per 4x4, and private groups often have the vehicle to themselves. That means everyone gets a window seat, the guide can adapt the day to what the group actually wants to see, and you're not queued behind a line of trucks at every sighting.
Every guide we work with was born and raised in the region they lead trips through, licensed by the Tanzania Tourist Board, and trained in wildlife tracking, first aid, and conservation practice. They're paid fairly and consistently, not per booking, which is part of why the same guides stay with us year after year and why the local knowledge in the vehicle is real, not memorized from a script.

Nothing is locked until you're happy with it.

We run trips across Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda with the same standard of guiding and vehicles in each, so a multi-country trip — say, Serengeti into the Maasai Mara, or a gorilla trek added onto a Tanzania safari — is handled by one team from start to finish instead of being handed off between separate local operators.
A share of every booking goes to park conservation fees and to community-run camps and cooperatives rather than foreign-owned chains, so your trip puts money directly into the places you're visiting. We also don't work with any operator involved in trophy hunting, and we choose camps and lodges that hire and train staff from the surrounding villages.
Your quote covers the vehicle, guide, park and conservation fees, accommodation, and meals as specified in your itinerary. It doesn't include international flights, visas, travel insurance, tips for guides and camp staff, or personal expenses like drinks and souvenirs. We list every line item before you pay a deposit, so there are no surprise costs once you're on the ground.
A deposit secures your dates and guide, with the balance due before arrival. Cancellation terms scale with notice given — the further out you cancel, the more of your deposit is refundable — and we'll always share the exact terms in writing before you pay anything. We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, since some lodge and park fees are non-refundable on our end regardless of notice.
Most nationalities need a visa for Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, or Uganda, which can usually be arranged online before you travel or on arrival depending on your passport. A yellow fever vaccination is required if you're arriving from certain countries, and we recommend speaking to a travel clinic about malaria prevention and routine vaccinations well before your trip. We'll send you country-specific entry requirements as soon as your dates are confirmed.
Yes, with the right planning. Most parks and camps set a minimum age of around six for game drives, and some walking safaris and specific camps set their own limits higher. We'll match you with family-friendly camps, adjust drive lengths and daily pace for younger kids, and flag anywhere a policy would exclude your children before you book.
