Trip Itinerary

Depart Arusha after an early breakfast and drive to Tarangire National Park, arriving mid-morning. Spend the day on game drives through Tarangire's iconic baobab-studded landscape, home to some of Tanzania's largest elephant herds along with lion, giraffe, and a huge variety of birdlife, with a picnic lunch out in the park.

In the afternoon, continue toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, checking in to your overnight stay by evening.

Early breakfast, then descend around 2,000 feet into the Ngorongoro Crater for a morning game drive across its densely packed floor — home to an estimated 25,000 large animals, including the Big Five and one of Tanzania's best chances of spotting black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch beside the crater's Lerai Forest or a hippo pool.

In the afternoon, ascend back to the crater rim and begin the drive back to Arusha, arriving in the evening. Trip ends with drop-off in Arusha (or at the airport, on request).
